Bishan 2.0
Bishan town centre will be transformed into a new business and job node with new and refreshed amenities.
Growing the Town into a Sub-Regional Centre
Today’s Bishan Town Centre will be developed into a new job node integrated with community facilities, to bring work and amenities closer to homes. There will be better connections to key transport nodes, pedestrianised streets, more community plazas and greenery. When fully developed, Bishan Sub-Regional Centre will be a vibrant, green, car-lite workplace and a delightful, engaging community space for all.
Rejuvenating the existing Bishan Town Centre
Look forward to fresh opportunities for Live, Work, Play and Move!

Look Around!
The name Bishan originates from a Chinese cemetery known as Kwong Wai Siew Peck San Theng (广惠 肇碧山亭) established in 1870 on the site of what is now Bishan New Town.
“Peck San Teng” means “pavilions on the jade hills”, in reference to the 10 pavilions that once dotted the sprawling grounds of the burial site. This has inspired the distinctive pitched roofs seen on some HDB blocks in Bishan.
Do you think the architecture of the Bishan NSL Station resembles a pavilion?
