Building Homes for All
The former home of Singapore’s second racecourse will be transformed into a new housing estate!
Introducing housing amid heritage and nature
Look out, not only for a variety of homes, but also a distinctly green environment:

Building communities together
Plans for this estate have been shaped by conversations between agencies and various stakeholders:

The public and surrounding communities
Future developments should relate sensitively to the area and be supported by infrastructural improvements.

Youths
We are excited by greater inclusivity, improved accessibility & new amenities in Bukit Timah, especially for our ageing parents!

Nature Groups
Apart from retaining significant green areas, we should preserve ecological connectivity both during construction and after completion new estate.

Heritage Groups
We should find ways to mark the equestrian heritage of the site, including the old racetrack.

A variety of food and beverage options, including affordable ones
A variety of green spaces, including future neighbourhood parks
Sports facilities

Health and medical care amenities, including facilities for seniors

Well-connected and accessible

The estate will be convenient for walking, cycling and getting on to public transport. Surrounding roads will be improved to accommodate the increased traffic too.

Residents will live within a 10-min walk to an MRT station and bus services will enhance first and last mile connectivity.

Road improvements are required to accommodate traffic from the new developments and are currently being studied. This includes the widening of Eng Neo Ave, Dunearn Road and Bukit Timah Road.

With the reduced need for private modes of transport, spaces can be freed up for other uses such as shared community spaces, greenery and pedestrian and cycling paths. Developments will hence provide fewer parking lots.

Shops, parks, recreation and community facilities can be within a 10-min walk or a 5-min cycle.
Spaces for nature and heritage

Efforts to retain habitats, flora and fauna of high biodiversity significance, as well as buildings and structures of high conservation significance, are being undertaken based on recommendations from environmental and heritage studies.
Examples of flora and fauna of conservation significance:

Examples of conservation-worthy buildings identified in the heritage study:
22 heritage buildings are proposed for conservation, including the two grandstands, and will be rejuvenated as community nodes.

Dunearn Water Depot
Apart from the former racecourse buildings, the former water depot building is also proposed to be conserved. Built in 1952, the art deco style building first housed offices and staff quarters for the Municipal Water Department, but was subsequently taken over by the Public Utilities Board as a centralised operational depot.
