Weaving recreation into the neighbourhood
The 26-kilometre North-Eastern Riverine Loop is one of Singapore’s most scenic park connectors. It links four parks — Punggol Park, Punggol Point Park, Punggol Waterway Park and Sengkang Riverside Park — and runs through the heartlands of Buangkok, Sengkang and Punggol. The connector then leads into the rustic landscapes of Punggol Beach, Punggol Promenade, Coney Island Park and Lorong Halus Wetland.
The 36-kilometre Central Urban Loop weaves through the housing estates of Hougang, Serangoon and Ang Mo Kio, providing direct access to Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, Punggol Park and the Kallang River. There will be a new pedestrian and cycling bridge across PIE which will allow seamless connection to Marina Bay. The journey also offers recreation options for nature, sports and heritage, as well as hawker delights.

Ubin: Enriching Heritage, Sustaining Nature
The island at the tip of the region retains the rustic beauty and simplicity of Singapore’s past. The National Parks Board (NParks) has been working with the Friends of Ubin Network (FUN) to explore ways to preserve this unique sanctuary while sensitively enhancing it for everyone to enjoy.

Kampung House Restoration Programme
The island’s kampung houses are a valuable part of Singapore’s cultural heritage. NParks has been working with FUN and community groups to restore them for community or commercial use. Five vacant kampung houses have been designated for this programme.

Conserving Ubin’s natural capital
As part of the Nature Conservation Masterplan, NParks has carried out various habitat enhancement and reforestation efforts on the island. They include the OneMillionTrees movement, mangrove restoration at Sungei Durian and other projects to recover vulnerable species and protect Pulau Ubin’s biodiversity.

Making Ubin accessible for all
Visitors will enjoy a better experience when exploring the island. Improvement works include a new accessible jetty near the Ubin Living Lab to cater to passengers with mobility challenges, as well as upgraded wayfinding and interpretive displays.

Off the beaten track
The Ketam Mountain Bike Park is a 10-kilometre scenic trail that winds around the fringes of the Ketam Quarry on the island. Built to international mountain biking standards, the park offers trails of varying levels of difficulty, allowing biking enthusiasts to train or test their skills.
Rediscovering Punggol’s Past
The Punggol Heritage Trail, a 1.3-kilometre linear park, is set to progressively open from end-2025. Its lush landscapes and unique topography amid conserved mature trees reflect the rustic charm and memories of Old Punggol Road, which once led to Singapore’s first public zoo and bird park. The trail will also include play areas and connect to the Punggol Digital District, Punggol Waterway Park, Punggol Promenade Punggol Point Walk.
